After having had several week of dry weather at parkrun. Today’s weather forecast was not looking very promising with rain predicted to arrive at 9am and windy conditions for the entire day. The rain never materialised and we were pleasantly surprised to find we ended our parkrun with a blue sky and sunshine.
It is so nice having our summer start position back in “Free Fields” with the extra space it enables runners to have the opportunity to chat with friends and family before and after their run. We welcomed 54 new runners. All of whom successfully completed the course and we trust that they enjoyed their experience and will continue to come to parkrun and make it part of their lifestyle.
Bath is such a beautiful city to visit and to combine that with a parkrun. What could be better..... For one couple running today, their visit to Bath gave them the opportunity to combine their run with a birthday celebration in our city. Our local club runners were well represented from Team Bath AC, Somer AC, Avon Valley and Chew Valley Snails. There were club runners from Yeovil Town RRC and Lonely Goat RC. The Bath Amphibians Triathlon club and the Newcastle University Tri club also attended. We recorded a total of 25 PBs; so congratulations to you all.
A date for your diary is Saturday 6 July when we will be volunteering with the National Trust. We help with the maintenance of the paths and woodland, and it's a great opportunity to give back. Please email Helen if you would like to volunteer. There are two slots; one straight after parkrun at 10:00 - 12:00 and the other 13:00 - 15:00. Please email Helen at bathskyline@parkrun.com.
Our Volunteers are our parkrun hero’s. Again they were amazing and helped me enormously with all the little incidentals which always crop up at such an event. A very big thank you to you all
