We will be setting up for a Christmas Day Parkrun. Usual time of 0900.

No probs to run in a Santa's hat or Christmas Jumper.

Festive celebration 19.12.15

Beckton Parkrun festive celebration will take place the week before Christmas Saturday 19th December.

Calling all park runners & non park runners! Come along to Beckton Parkrun and help us celebrate the festive season with snacks and refreshments.

Please bring your friends and family we all look forward to seeing you.

Festive attire welcome a small prize for the best dress Santa.

BECKTON PARKRUN 3RD ANNIVERSARY 30.05.15

Come along to Beckton Parkrun on Saturday 30th May @ 9.00am to help  celebrate 3 years at Beckton.

Light refreshments will follow.

Baggage Volunteering at VLM 2015

Are you interested in volunteering at THE VIRGIN LONDON MARATHON with team Beckton Parkrun!

If so, why not keep the following date in your dairy.

Meeting time:- 6.30am

Coach meeting point:- Balaam Leisure Centre, 14 Balaam Street, Plaistow London E13 8AQ.

What a wonderful experience had by all who volunteered last year.

Please wear comfortable clothing you can also bring along some snacks.

The Newham 24Hour non-stop Relay

The Newham 24Hour non-stop Relay, organised by East End Road Runners, will take place between Noon 18th Aug - Noon 19th Aug 2012 at Terence McMillan Stadium [Newham Leisure Centre] 281 Prince Regent Lane, London, E13 8SD

The event is a non-stop baton carrying relay [inspired by the symbolism of the Olympic Torch Relay] which will see up to 8 teams, 1 to each lane of the Terence Mcmillan Stadium 400M running track, running / jogging / walking continuously for 24 hours, trying to complete as many KMs in that time as possible.

Each team will attempt to run the farthest but teams are also jointly attempting to run farther than 2012km as a combined total.

This FREE event, open to the public as well as members of local running groups and clubs, is seen as both a celebration of the unique location in the heart of the 2012 Olympic geography, and a coming together of local running communities in a spirit of competition and co-operation.

As well as participants from East End Road Runners other invited teams include Run England, local Parkrunners, members of neighbouring running clubs, and members of the public.

Every participant with receive a Community Games certificate with their distance covered, a 2012 commemorative medal, water, and a spot prize goody bag.

Please email 3 or 4 preferences for half hour slots with your full name and contact details to 24hour@eerr.org.uk  This is also the address for all queries.

Time slots are allocated on a first come first served basis. Entry is by pre-registration only.

North London Parkrun Longest Chain

Some will already have heard about this planned event?

You could participate by doing all or only part of the event, you could participate by coming along and just running what is hoped will be the final section of the chain - Beckton

If only wanting to do the Beckton section the time to meet at the pavillion will be 7.30pm

Roughly the details are:
- Takes place on Sunday 24th June.
- Run up to 7 parkruns in a day. [8 if you include Beckton Parkrun which launches on June 2nd]
- Try some parkrun courses you wouldn't normally be able to, and meet other London parkrunners.
- Does not count towards total number of parkruns, affect average age grading/ times or affect your p.b.
- Best way to describe event is a series of freedom parkruns with a group of other parkrunners.

- All starts at 9am at Oak Hill Park.
- Courses are (in order): Oak Hill, Ally Pally, Hampstead Heath, Highbury Fields, Mile End, Wanstead Flats and Valentines. [with optional extra Beckton]
- Timetable and courses can be found on the longest parkrun website (search "longest parkrun").
