Celebrate #parkrun13 with us!

On Saturday 7 October, parkrun turns 13 and we’re inviting you to celebrate #parkrun13 with us on International parkrun Day. 13 is an extra special number for us, as that was the number of runners who got together on 2 October 2004 to run the very first parkrun.

To celebrate how the international parkrun community has grown over the past 13 years, parkrun wants to collect a photograph of a personalised apricot top from every event in the world (where available), from Aberdeen in the UK, to Żary in Poland and we need your help!

Special guest athlete Caleb Hughes to join Bedford parkrun volunteers this Saturday!

On Saturday 19th August, to celebrate the public’s support of elite and community sport through playing The National Lottery, the nation’s sporting heroes will take to parkrun events across the UK to volunteer and inspire the nation to get active.  Read more about #teamparkrun here :-D

We are very excited to welcome World/European junior champion, and 2016 Euro Open Water 5k Bronze medallist Caleb Hughes as a guest tailwalker at Bedford parkrun this Saturday!

We'd love everyone to come along to run, walk or jog with us and show Caleb the support we give to all parkrunners.  Our numerous triathletes and open water swimmers will probably be especially pleased to see him walking around the course. Pop along to say hi... oh, and of course, don't forget your barcode!

Make the 19th a special parkrun date to celebrate our wonderful community at Bedford parkrun.  We'd also love lots of volunteers to join Caleb, so don't forget to have a look at our volunteer roster at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bedford/futureroster/ and email us at bedfordhelpers@parkrun.com if you can help out.
