Volunteers;

Folks we have seen a rise in the number of volunteers not turning up recently despite being sent an email reminder. The concept of Parkrun is for participants to volunteer and "do their bit" every few months to help the event continue and grow but it is getting increasingly difficult to facilitate our event safely without the requisite number of volunteers. We appreciate that Tommy Patton park is not Victoria and we are pushing the council as much as we can to get us back into our rightful home as soon as possible but in the mean time we still need volunteers in order to continue to provide you all with a Saturday morning Parkrun. All we ask is that you keep an eye on your emails and try and attend when you are asked. Remember "No volunteers no Parkrun"  Many thanks!

Missing position tokens

The following position tokens were not handed in following this mornings event. 31, 37, 66, 117, 148. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE return them next week. Missing tokens mean an awful lot of extra work for our already very busy volunteers. Many thanks

1st Birthday celebrations.

Yesterday was Belfast Victoria Parkruns 1st birthday and what a fantastic day it was. The weather was super with 163 runners (a new record) taking part in the sunshine. We were very privelaged to have extremely hard working MP Naomi Long and former World Champion boxer Wayne "the pocket rocket" McCullough on hand to present some awards that recognised the fantastic performances throughout the year by many of our parkrunners. The hospitlity following the event was supurb and the efforts by all those involved can not be overstated. The bowling pavillion was packed with standing room only and thoe who stayed behind to watch the awards presentation seemed to really enjoy the occasion. We take this oppurtuninty to thank everyone for playing their parts however large or small for yesterday and the last 12 months. we think something special is developing in Victoria Park. Heres to the next 12 months.

Volunteer points

We are currently updating our VMS (volunteer management software) and as such are unable to process volunteers at the minute. As soon as we have completed the transition we will make sure all our volunteers are rewarded accordingly.

Thanks
