Belton House parkrun
Event number 176
26th October 2019
It was a wet one, at one point I wasn't sure whether we should have ordered the Ark!
This week 164 people ran, jogged and walked the course, unbelievably we had 5 first timers, well done for completing your first parkrun on the what felt like the wettest day of the year! 15 tourists joined us, we hope you enjoyed the course, 18 different clubs took part and 22 of you recorded new personal bests!
Well done all for not waking up, looking out the window and rolling over again! You did it, put your trainers on and walked out the door
Special thanks to our 24 volunteers this week who not only turned up and encouraged 164 people to complete 5k, handed out tokens, scanned everyone in, packed up the course and processed the results while the whole time maintaining a smile while cold, wet and soggy, we salute you!

Last week parkrun Uk teamed up with Milbrook beds for parkunners to win a mattress, all you had to do was
1, Wear yourPJ's to parkrun today
2, Share your picture of you in your PJ's on the parkrun UK post
3, use the hashtag #parkruninpjs
and despite the weather some of you did run in your PJ's, including Sammy French in the bear onsie, with RD Gordon Geach, Rebecca Townhill & Luke Pearson in their dressing gowns and Susan Coping in the pink headband.
Good luck with the competition and be sure to let us know if you are the winner!
A few milestones this week including Karen SOUTHERN and Naomi JEPSON-RIVERS joining the the 50th milestone club, Naomi pictured above with husband Sam and son Elijah. Well done both, looking forward to seeing you in your red tshirts.
A reminder next Saturday we are celebrating our 4th birthday! Much excitement
We will be celebrating in the Ride Cafe and ask that you all drop in to mark the 4 years Belton House parkrun has been running, celebrating its success and all that parkrun means to everyone.
The Ride Cafe will be open from 8am to take in donations of cake (thank you) and the National Trust are providing tea and coffee.
Please be at parkrun no later than 08:30, and please congregate on the steps of the house ready for the group photo, and for one time only, we are starting from the house!
We can't wait to see you all next week
