Belton House parkrun are delighted to be one of many parkruns around the world celebrating International Woman's Day parkrun
In England, #IWDparkrun will be supported by This Girl Can, a campaign created by Sport England.
These days there are many barriers that hold people back from participating in social events like parkrun.
For some reason women are less likely than men to take part and to continue participating in parkrun, this is despite women making up 54% of overall registrations.
parkrun are taking the opportunity that International Women’s Day (#IWD) presents to encourage more women and girls to participate.
We invite you all to Belton House parkrun on 7th March 2020 to a parkrun dedicated to female participation.
Don't panic boys, everyone is welcome at parkrun on International Women’s Day please come along and support the ladies.
Boy's and girls please support this fantastic day by wearing PURPLE!
Everyone, please talk to the girls and women that you know and support them to overcome any concerns that they might have. Encourage them to come along to enjoy a fun, healthy and fantastically supportive experience.
If anyone is new to parkrun, then please ask them to register at parkrun UK
and print off their barcode, ready for the day.
No barcode, no time, no result!
First timers brief commences at 08:50, general brief at 08:55 and we all set off at 09:00 prompt.
Parkrun is free (including parking at Belton House, however if you are not a member of the National Trust they ask you have left the grounds by 11am) and is supported entirely by volunteers, so be sure to thank all the hivis heroes whether on the 07th March at Belton or partaking in any parkrun across the world on any given Saturday
If you are new to Belton house parkrun and are driving, we also ask you to arrive early, the village can become congested due to the volumes of parkrunners approx 500. If you are running, jogging or walking to parkrun then the Lions gate entrance opens at 08:30 as do the toilets.
We cannot wait to support this fabulous day and see you all in PURPLE!
