With so much rain over the last few weeks, it was a welcome relief to have a few days of dry weather for our first parkrun of the new decade. This gave the glorious mud a chance to solidify a wee bit. There was still a lot of slipping and sliding on the first hill though, which meant there was quite a few wishing they hadn't worn those sparkling new trainers and white clothing!
This week we saw 87 people run, jog and walk the course. It was so lovely to see so many 1st timers and tourists (42 in all) sharing their parkrun stories and 4 personal bests (despite the mud). A great morning had by all with 15 different clubs being represented. A special mention to Kev Howarth who's clocked up 25 volunteering credits. It was good to see the community café being utilised so well enabling everyone to catch up with friends after the Christmas holidays. Thanks to our volunteer Tom Culligan for allowing this to happen.
This wouldn't all happen without our superb team of volunteers:-
