Saturday saw us introducing our alternative route for the 1st time. Due to storm Ciara and Denis the previous weeks we have an unstable tree on our normal route. The mud was just as muddy and the water just as wet! Only 1 shoe was lost which was a miracle from the amount of rain we've had recently. Our very own ED, Marcus Elwes managed to clock up a 1st place, with core team member Gillian Selman first lady whilst Simon Powell and Isabella Short each reached their 25 volunteering milestone. Well done to the four of you. The morning was a pleasant one with plenty of achy, muddy legs at the finish tunnel, and chatter, laughs and cake in the café afterwards.
This week 29 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 0 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by 16 volunteers:
John WHITELEY • Jackie GANLEY • James TINKLER • Gillian SELMAN • Marcus ELWES • Christopher JACKSON • Karen MERCER • Colette SHORT • Isabella SHORT • Beverley MALIN-SMITH • Simon POWELL • John WHITELEY • Rebecca GOLDER • Mary YATES • Trudi SENEVIRATNE • Francesca MEEHAN
