WEATHER WARNING – 2nd February 2019

We will be reviewing the weather for 2nd February to ensure that it is safe to go ahead with Bicester parkrun. Please look out for updates on our facebook page (on Friday 1st or by 8am on Saturday 2nd February) confirming if the event will take place or not.

WEATHER WARNING FOR Saturday 19th Jan:
Please note - as per this morning at 8.30am (17th Jan) it was incredibly icy on the tarmac paths, resulting in not being able to run without risk of slipping.
We will be assessing the Bicester parkrun route at 7.45am on Saturday morning to decide if it is safe to run in the Winter route. If it is deemed unsafe, then a cancellation notice will be posted on the Facebook page at approximately 8am.

New Year’s Day – Amended start time – now 10.30am

Please note that due to the start times of other local New Year's Day parkruns, we have taken the decision to move the start time from 9am to 10.30am.

The reason for this is to allow local runners to complete the 'Double' on this special event day and this would allow time for runners to safely travel between parkruns in time.

VISITORS / TOURISTS - If you haven't visited Bicester parkrun before, please note that we DO NOT HAVE any toilet facilities on our field / route so please ensure you allow for this should you choose to run with us. Public toilets are located at Claremont Car park, Victoria Road, Bicester (nearest postcode is Garth Park at OX26 6PS).

TRAVEL / PARKING - Nearest parking is at Langford Village School (no toilets) at Peregrine Way, Bicester, OX26 6SX. IF you are parking at Claremont Car park to use the toilets before parkrun, it is about a 12 minute walk to the start point and the London Road has a railway crossing, which may or may not have trains running at that time of the morning.

Any questions, please message

run and volunteer? Yes you can

What would you think if I told you you could run and volunteer on the same day?
Yes get a time and a volunteer credit. Exciting yes?
Would you like to know how? Listen up....
There are a few roles that can be undertaken by people taking part in a parkrun like tailwalker, setting up, packing away, token sorting, could you write a run report / review? and even barcode scanning by some of our faster finishers.

So please if you don't volunteer because you just love to run so so much, please give these roles a thought so we can keep Bicester parkrun ticking over nicely.
Thank you
