Another exhilarating parkrun, 319 of you ran, jogged, or walked the course, supported by 27 volunteers. January might be over and the rain has eased off more recently but unfortunately the ground is still quite wet in places, as you might have seen from the puddles especially near the café and start area. So we decided to continue with our temporary 5 lap path only course.
Thank you for all your support as it takes a truly combined effort to make this operate smoothly given it is not our regular course, but it was noticeable that runners were taking care coming into the finish area to avoid any collisions with those still going round which was great to see. Thanks to all our marshals and in particular to Shane White and Vicky Andreetti who were marshals at the finish area not only encourage you on but also look out / call out during any congestion coming off the path.
We welcomed 36 first timers, including tourists from West Yorkshire and Bristol. Many of whom listened to David Hayday, our Event Director, at the first timers briefing.
Despite some blustery weather, and 5 hills or slight inclines, depending on your point of view, an impressive 48 of you still managed to reach PBs, so well done ! As usual, many smiles for the camera.
Our photographers, Joe Andreetti and Paul Sillence produced such a great selection of photos that I struggled to pick out which ones to include in the report. I love the fact there are so many groups of friends.
Many thanks to all our volunteers, whether marshalling, time keeping, barcode scanning, token sorting, setting up the event, packing up afterwards … we are very appreciative that you all come forward to help support our event.

Why not trade up your paper barcode to some of those snazzy plastic barcodes and wristbands? You can get them at the parkrun barcode website and never worry about soggy paper ones again! ICE details can also be printed on them as well.
