Although the days have been shorter and colder recently, Parkrun has brightened up my week!
Giving the cold shoulder to the grey skies, 612 people ran, jogged and walked our lovely course. We had 43 first timers (welcome to the rest of your life!) and 36 recorded new PBs-congratulations! Representatives of 40 different clubs took part.
I have been running since I was 7 years old, and one of the most interesting elements of the run was the dogs-whether they were big or small! It’s great to see that even our four-legged friends and their owners can enjoy our beautiful park-rain (which, to my dismay, my dog seems to love, especially walking through puddles) or shine. I can't wait for the day he can run with us, although I am not so excited for when nature calls...
We were given the time and dedication of 26 volunteers, who managed to put a smile on our faces despite the grey weather. As always, we are in need of volunteers-our hi-viz heroes are what makes Parkrun happen. If you are interested, please email email@example.com -we would love to have you onboard!
