Black Park saw the return of parkrun on Saturday 24th July after the break due to Covid-19 restrictions and 324 runners turned up to run, jog or walk 5K. The rain held off despite a few rumbles of thunder and it was fantastic to be back in the park again

The start was emotional for some who let out yelps of joy as they took off around the course. The familiar sounds of dogs barking eager to get going were great to hear
This week 324 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 38 were first timers and 30 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 34 different clubs took part.

The Age Grade course record is held by Margaret MOODY who recorded 92.51% (22:15) on 5th April 2014 (event number 250).
Black Park parkrun started on 18th July 2009. Since then 21,624 participants have completed 234,034 parkruns covering a total distance of 1,170,170 km, including 34,734 new Personal Bests. A total of 867 individuals have volunteered 11,331 times.
