Bradford parkrun is cancelled on 2021-09-18 – Race For Life is taking over Lister Park

Run report 6/2/2016

Well folks, it was another soggy one but that didn't dampen the spirits of our wonderful team of volunteers! This week there were 399 runners, of whom 47 were first timers and 74 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 28 different athletics clubs took part and we welcomed a few parkrun tourists as well.

We rely on our wonderful volunteers so remember to put your name down for a future week- just email or put your name in the volunteer book which is always at the finish area.

Ben Watson of Baildon Runners completed his 100th parkrun

Alastair Leitch completed his 100th parkrun

Jon Harris completed his 50th parkrun

Baber Hussain completed his 50th parkrun

Congratulations to you all, keep a look out in your parkrun profile under 'milestones' when you can order your club t shirt

Funnel duckers

Once again this week there were 'funnel duckers' PLEASE PLEASE everyone when you cross the finish line, you must continue right through the funnel and collect your finish token. EVEN IF you don't have your barcode or you don't want your time... stay in line in the funnel, collect your finish token then just drop the finish token off at the scanning table.....simples!

When you go past the timer on the finish line you will be allocated a time. If you then double back out or duck out of the funnel the times and positions don't match up and you affect the time of every single runner after you.

PLEASE understand when runners are finishing, especially at peak finishing times the timer really has to concentrate. Don't stop to ask what your time was and please don't take offence when the timer is shouting to everyone to move down as there are finishers piling up behind you at the finish line.

Hi everyone, we will be having a Bradford parkrun at 9am on Christmas Day!

Anyone who attended last Saturday will know how slippery it was at the finish area, in the winter months please check the Bradford parkrun facebook page or twitter feed on Saturday mornings before you set off because thats where I'll post if an event has to be cancelled.

I'll always try to let you know as early as possible on a Saturday morning.

(Event Director)

An ‘Olympic’ event

 202 amazing runners today!

If you have registered for parkrun but have never actually come along and done one, there's never been a better time than next Saturday 18 August,

parkrun is involved in a great initiative called Join In Local Sport.

It's not about being the strongest, the fittest or the fastest, it's about having a go, having fun and just being able to say "I DID IT!"

Tell your friends, family, work colleagues about parkrun and encourage them to come along next Saturday.

Be inspired by the Olympic athletes, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis, Dai Green, the brilliant Brownlees and Sarah Attar who made history as the first female athlete from Saudi Arabia, a Muslim lady proud to run for her country.

Join us on for all the chat and gossip!
