“It’s upwards flat at Bramley”

The second Bramley parkrun saw slightly less damp conditions, and our volunteers raring and ready to go again.   We warmly welcomed 122 runners to us for the first time.  Our Event Director Graham took to the running field to prove it’s not an uphill…it’s a going upwards flat! We also had parkrun tourist from as far away as Sheffield.

After a fervent set of announcements from our first time Run Director Andrew Groves (no nerves, his hands were steady as a rock)  a strong field of 169 people set out on our up’n’down course to much rapturous cheering.

First Person back this week was Connor Craig-Jackson of Skyrac AC in 17:03, and setting a new PB for himself, with our 2nd and 3rd males being Robert Cumming of Leeds &Bradford Triathalon Club in 17:56 and Michael Vargas in 18:16.  Our first female over the line this week was Lucy Rider of Hyde Park Harriers in 23:32, with Beverly Hurst of Horsforth Harriers in 23:51 in 2nd and Tracey Howson was 3rd female in 24:17.

38 people recorded a new Personal Best with us this week and we had the pleasure of  representatives  from 18 different running clubs and would like to offer our thanks again for their continued support.

A very special mention needs to go out to Jayne’s Joggers, who came to Bramley parkrun to do their very first 5k!  Well done ladies what a fantastic achievement for you all.  Another mention also needs to go out to the almost 40 people who were doing a parkrun for the very first time, and we look forward to welcoming many many more.

Just one more mention  goes out to Dan wilkinson from Dan wilkinson photograhy who gave up his time to take some fantastic pictures from this weeks event thank you Dan your efforts
