Bressay parkrun #70 was busy and bustling as usual with 42 people running, jogging or walking the course. We were thrilled to have 12 first timers to Bressay parkrun and a special mention must go to Cleo Gifford who completed her first park run just in time for her 6th birthday. Andrew Bailey also did well completing his first ever parkrun anywhere with a time of 20:23 and coming in third. Well done to you both!
Personal bests were few and far between this week but John Borrill, Wendy Borrill and Liz Polson all ran well to achieve new personal best times. In total, representatives of 7 different clubs took part with visitors from as far away as Sheffield.
We were delighted to hear that some Bressay parkrun regulars had excellent weekends elsewhere. Reece Black continued the trend of Shetlanders achieving good results at Kirkwall parkrun, earning first place with a time of 18:25. Bressay stalwarts Leanne Gear and Jamie Tomlinson ventured further afield and completed a parkrun in Canada.
As always, we are immensely grateful to the volunteers who make Bressay parkrun such a success week in week out. This week’s volunteers were:
Adam CZARNOBAY • Hannah BATESON • Ann THOMSON • Judith PINNICK • Kathy KELLY • Noel KELLY • Ingrid SANDISON • Derek ROSS • Maureen BURKE • Babs ROSS • Amanda SINCLAIR • Susie FOX • Julie JOHNSON • Janice BURGESS • Emma COURTIER
