Additional events over Christmas and New Year

We will be running two additional events over Christmas and New Year.

Christmas Day, Tuesday 25th December at 9.00am.

New Year's Day, Tuesday 1st January at 10.00am.

It is possible (and permitted) to run two events on New Year's Day, if timing allows. If you would like to run two events, please keep an eye on the Christmas Compendium which will indicate which other local events may be putting on an extra run.

Thanks to those of you who have volunteered so these events are able to go ahead.

Christmas & New Year parkruns at Bromley

We are planning to hold the following events over the Christmas and New Year period, subject to filling the volunteer roster:

Santa themed run on 19th December. Fancy dress and Santa hats encouraged. Please bring along mince pies or other festive treats. A volunteer to take photos would be great for this event.

Additional run on Christmas Day at 9am. (No catering)

Usual run on Boxing Day at 9am. (No catering)

Additional run on New Year's Day at 10am (No catering).

We will then be back to normal on 2nd January.

We look forward to celebrating the festive season with our parkrun family and friends

Christmas Day route reversal

The Christmas Day run will start by the pile of logs near the Hook Farm Road end of Norman Park with a reversal of our usual route (the same as at our birthday run last August and last week). This is to avoid the heavily waterlogged section of the route by Hayes Lane car park. Please arrive earlier than usual if you're arriving from the Hayes Lane entrance and, if possible, share the news with others.
Also, please do not cut across the football pitches to reach the start.

Christmas Day run

We will be hosting a Christmas Day run, weather permitting, on Thursday 25th December 2014 with a normal start of 9am. No catering will be available, just a great run. Expect to see some Christmas themed outfits!

Bromley parkrun cancelled until 25/1/14

After very careful consideration I have decided that Norman Park is unlikely to be able to sustain a safe and enjoyable parkrun given the recent rainfall and flooding so I have cancelled the following events:

Wednesday 1st January New Years Day - CANCELLED

Saturday 4th, 11th and 18th January - CANCELLED

Alternative routes have been considered in particular the possible all tarmac route but it would require us to pass through both car parks with the resulting increased risk of injury.

Please use this as an opportunity to visit other local parkruns in Greenwich, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Lloyd, Orpington and Hilly Fields to name just a few!

Bromley parkrun Christmas Day cancelled

I am sorry to say that with the heavy rain there is substantial flooding in Norman Park and our usual route is not safe. Please don't come to run in Norman Park round the parkrun route until the water has cleared.
