Hold on to your hats -
we're in for a bumpy ride!
A (hopefully) temporary blip in the summer conditions with unseasonably stormy weather gracing us with it's unwelcome presence today. Given the forecast I suspect we actually fared much better and we could have been almost literally blown away but as they say, it's all character building right?
With so many other events in the region it was great that 299 people chose to come and spend their Saturday morning with us here at Burnham & Highbridge.
A special mention goes out to the tourists and visitors with representatives today coming from (in distance order based on my limited geographical knowledge) Minehead, Solihull, Northants, Durham, Carlisle, Glasgow, Malaysia and finally Melbourne Australia!
Good to see you all - go tell your friends how fab it is here!
Fancy taking on another challenge?
If you are looking for a serious step-up or another event in your running challenges, Burnham on Sea Harriers are holding a race on Sun 6th October @11am.
A popular race that's also part of the Somerset series is an event that's been run for over 30 years, the Burnham Half marathon is an almost totally flat loop route. Plenty of prizes on offer for all categories including several exclusively for local entrants. The race starts and finishes at the BASC Sports Ground, Stoddens Road, Burnham, TA8 2DX. The venue has plenty of parking and showers together with refreshments in the clubhouse.
Whilst you can't see the wind, the effects are quite clear but the smiles are still shining through!
