We saw numbers rise again on Saturday, which is lovely to see and meant 294 or you braved the mud to complete this week's event. Obviously with numbers so high this puts a strain on parking so could I please remind you to not park anywhere other than an allocated space. This is at the request of the park rangers who are concerned, not only about damage caused to the grass verges, but also about access for emergency vehicles if required.
Also, we would just like to give a shout out to Sharon Warland as she completed her 200th parkrun on Saturday. These runs have taken place since a full hip replacement in 2013 and she has used parkrun as her route back to fitness. A massive achievement Sharon; well done!
Finally, as you are aware, parkrun is managed entirely by volunteers and we need to ensure the Bury parkrun has enough volunteers to sustain it into the future. We are always looking for new Run Directors so if any of you are interested in doing this, either now or in the future, then please come and find me (Claire Brown) for a chat. Being an RD may look a little daunting but it really isn't difficult and doesn't take up too much time, especially if we ensure we have a minimum of 6 RDs on the roster at any one time. And talking of volunteers ...
The event was made possible by 16 volunteers:
Ian BRADFORD • Stephen COOK • Stephen PRETTY • Claire BROWN • Jenny MORGAN • Joe BRADFORD • Keith STEPHEN • Martin ALLUM • Dean SYKES • Liz O'RIORDAN • Catherine FIRTH • Tim PAGE • Rob WEBB • Lucy DAWSON • Alison CARTWRIGHT • Thomas CARTWRIGHT
