Bearcat Running Club – The Turks Head 10k

Many of you will be aware of the Bearcat Running Club and we see some of their number amongst our parkrunners.

Anyway, this year Bearcat are bringing back an historic run from years past and so if you are looking for a race in June then you might want to consider this one.

1st Male and 1st Female will receive prizes of trophies and a 2 person Spa Day guest pass to the impressive David Lloyd and Amida Spa in Hampton. Sporting Feet are donating very generous 2nd and 3rd prizes for both male and female.

All runners will receive a great medal and a goody bag with; a can of beer, a David Lloyd water bottle, and a £5 discount voucher for Sweatshop, discount voucher for Sporting Feet plus additional items. We are hoping for a T shirt too, just waiting on sponsorship!

The Route
The race starts and finishes on Marble Hill Park riverside. This beautiful route passes briefly through Twickenham, then joins the Thames towpath passing Teddington, Ham House, Petersham Field and Richmond Upon Thames. It is a flat route three quarters of which is on the River Thames.


2013 London Youth Games Cross Country

Team Richmond are looking for Cross Country runners (U-13’s to U- 17’s) to compete in the 2013 London Youth Games competition. London Youth Games is Europe’s largest sporting event where all the London boroughs compete against each other in over 30 different sports. Cross Country is the first event of the 2013 calendar and will be held on Saturday 17 November 2012 at Parliament Hill. To be eligible to compete for Team Richmond, competitors must live or go to school in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, be born between 17/11/01 and 01/09/95 and complete a parkrun in the Borough (Bushy Park, Crane Park, Old Deer Park or Richmond Park) between Saturday 22 September and Saturday 20 October 2012.
