Good morning parkrunners
I really hope you all had a lovely weekend, let's hope March brings some calmer weather conditions.
Saturday was a gloriously warm sunny day and conditions were firm and dry underfoot
Saturday was an absolute joke!!!!!
Seriously you couldn't make it up, the set up team were battered by horizontal hail stones but on they marched and the course was ready by 8.30. You wonderful, stoic, bonkers parkrunners began to arrive and huddled together under the bandstand, there was definitely mutiny in the air for the main briefing and I was
bullied encouraged into stepping out with my megaphone. Never mind, the bandstand was mine for the following 20 minutes while I hugged my latte.
As far as I know nobody fell over, there were some spectacular skids across the finish line and the faces of despair/relief/disbelief/happiness were quite entertaining. I can honestly say that in over 200 events I've never seen parkrunners so mud splattered. I hope the clean up wasn't too bad. I'm sure the dogs had a fab time apart from the odd one who absolutely refused the second lap. Maggie the Spaniel needs to speak to her fellow Cocker Toffee for a lesson in Man Up. Obviously I love watching the doglets, they really do love it!
This week 187 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 14 were first timers and 4 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part.
Saturday's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Castle Park parkrun Results Page.
