This week 273 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 34 were first timers and 61 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part. The dip in numbers, occasioned by the awful weather last weekend proved to be a one off and normal service was resumed with another great turnout. Conditions were ideal as evidenced by the 61 PBs recorded today.
Our first finishers were Aaron McGrady (16:32 – on second outside his PB and the 6th fastest time ever recorded in the 83 events to date) who was second on Thursday nights Hill & Dale climb to the summit of Binnian and Briege Russell (21:48), who recorded a PB.
We welcomed some parkruns tourists from Oldbridge Parkrun in County Meath and hope they enjoyed our event. A few reminders: we still need some volunteers for the remaining Saturdays in May, our next pacer event is on 18 May and we have pacers for 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 32 minutes confirmed and there will be no parkrun on 13 July due to the annual Castlewellan Agricultural Show. Good luck to everyone taking part in the Belfast Marathon on Sunday 4 May.
