Central Park junior parkrun #56

On Sunday 18 November 2018 a group of the friendliest, most helpful and kind children and grown-ups in the Peterborough area met up in our beautiful park.

We could see our breath for the first time this autumn, but the sun lit up the mist, Run Director Jacqui Smith welcomed us all quickly, and it was a good excuse to start the warm-up, which was led by fantastic first-time volunteer Yvonne Goodsell – thanks Yvonne!

62 children walked, ran and skipped around the course – congratulations to each and every one of you. 2 of you were taking part for the first time – extra congratulations and welcome to you. And to those who started but didn't quite make it to the end (my daughter), please come back and try again soon ;-)

It was great to see so many of you smiling, waving, hi-fiving and being so happy on the course today. So extra special congratulations go to all of you who helped a friend by holding hands, waiting for them, clapping or encouraging them, or going back to run with slower runners. You made all the grown-ups feel super-proud.

Well done to Natty Clifford and Jessica Pilcher, who finished first male and female.

Finally a big thank you to our other two new volunteer marshals, Becca and Tom Musson. WE LOVE NEW VOLUNTEERS!  If you are coming along and can spare a hand to help out, let us know on centralpark-juniorshelpers@parkrun.com

You should all be very proud of yourselves. #loveparkrun
