It's about this time of year when there's a bit of trepidation about what weather Sunday morning is going to bring. Especially when Saturday afternoon is, quite frankly, horrific.
Thankfully we escaped the cold, wet and rain of the day before, and the 36 juniors and plethora of volunteers enjoyed a lovely winter's morning for Central Park junior parkrun number 60.
As always, there was plenty of great running on display from our youngsters, with Edward Elkin first across the line in eight minutes flat. Ryan Ingram was not far behind in 8:07, while Evie Hemmings led the girls home in 8:10.
There were three PB's recorded on the day, with Amber Smith, Ben Whitby and Ruby May Cranfield all recording their best ever times. Well done!
We also welcomed two new faces to Central Park, with Frankie and Poppy Dalton making their debuts. Hopefully they will both become familiar faces in the coming months.
As always, a massive shout out goes to our volunteers - without their help, we simply could not put on the event. Please get involved if you can, new helpers are warmly welcomed - check out the Facebook page or the website, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And finally, don't forget to get out that fancy dress for our special Christmas junior parkrun on Sunday!
