Event #73 ECR Takeover

By Jonah Carty age 8

Well done to everyone for coming to parkrun today. Today the volunteers all came from Eye Community Runners. They have a Junior section in which we meet every Thursday in term time at 5:45pm, at Lindisfarne pavilion, Eye. In my opinion it’s the best running club in the world! Wear GREEN to be SEEN! #greenarmy

First over the line was Natty Clifford with a time of 8:13. Well done!
First female home was Jessica Ingram in 5th place with a time of 9:24. Her little brother Ryan came 2nd with a time of 8:17.

In total 57 runners took part today, well done for all your efforts and thanks for the support.

Milestones to mention: Congratulations to Jeremy Taylor for completing enough parkruns to qualify for his marathon wrist band. Don’t forget to print out your certificate too.

It was a slightly different route today, with the finish on path not grass due to the recent wet weather. Thankfully today it wasn’t raining.

Oh and there was cake. Lovely millionaire shortbread made by one of our regular junior parkrunners. Thanks Lexie for them, they were yummy. If you ever feel like making more I’d be happy to test them for you.

parkrun can’t happen without its volunteers so a big cheer for all 28 volunteers today. If you haven’t ever volunteered its great fun and some roles mean you can run as well. If you volunteer 25 times you get a cool t-shirt too and it’s FREE!

I hope you enjoy parkrun as much as I do. Please come again, we will miss you if you don’t make it.

Thank you for reading, see you soon.
