The wetter the better! Run report for event 2, 16th March 2019.

This report marks our second parkrun at Centre Vale park, on the wettest day of the year in Calderdale so far! This week the rain was heavy and the puddles were many, but spirits were high as ever! As I arrived at the park I realised I had made a rookie run director mistake and forgotten to order good weather. However, the smiling faces of the 133 people who ran, jogged and walked this week told me I was forgiven. 100 were first timers at Centre Vale, and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 31 clubs took part. A special mention goes to young Thomas Alexander who ran his 50th parkrun, and to the 11 brand new parkrunners we welcomed along. The biggest thank you goes out to the volunteers who stayed cheerful despite the terrible conditions-thank you so much to all of you! If you haven't tried volunteering before, please do give it a go...you'll have a great time being part of our friendly team and you'll get your name in print, please see below! See you all next week!
