Run Report for Event #369

This week Chelmsford parkrun could best be described as wet and soggy but that didn't stop 523 people running, jogging and walking the course, of whom 13 were first timers and 28 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 45 different clubs took part.

Just a little reminder that if you run with a dog you need to have it on a short lead, if you do this you have more control and your dog is less likely to cause disruption to our other lovely parkrunners!

On Saturday we have a festive treat for you! Some of our regular parkrunners, who when not wearing lycra, dabble with brass instruments, will be playing Christmas carols before and during the run. They are raising money for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, based in Hatfield Peverel- for whom one of the musicians David Howell, is running the London Marathon in April.

Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting people whose lives are touched by cancer. Their support centres in Essex, London and Hertfordshire are vital in helping people living with cancer. Founded in 1999, the charity is the legacy of BBC broadcaster and sports woman Helen Rollason, whose vision was: “Good quality of life while coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive. It should be available to everyone.” Providing support for cancer patients’ emotional well-being alongside their medical treatment continues to be at the core of the charity’s mission.

We know that runners don't carry cash, so donations can be made direct to David's fundraising page:

Gerry will be full of festive fun this Saturday and on Christmas Day - who will be joining us?

See you Saturday
