Christmas Day and New Year Day runs

We are delighted to announce that we will again be putting on extra events this year so you can start off the holidays with a run in the park!

Our programme of runs will be as follows:

Saturday 24th December - Normal run at 9am.
Sunday 25th December - Special extra run at 9am. (Santa outfits are welcome with a mince pie or two!)
Saturday 31st December - Normal run at 9am.
Sunday 1st January - Special extra run at 10:30am

The New Years Day run is a the later time to enable you to do the "double" this means you could run at either Maldon Prom, Great Notley who both go at 9am and if you are adventurous you could get to Hatfield Forest for a 8:30 start then back to Chelmsford for our 10:30 start.

As always, please drive responsibly and with care between each event location.

Both our extra events are on Sundays which is normally Chelmsford juniors days but they have cancelled which allows us to put on these events. If you know any of the junior team, please say thank you!

WK 156 (435)
WK #158 (137)

Last year a group ran from Great Notley to Chelmsford to do the double as there were no buses!

Christmas and New Year parkruns

There are just six weeks to Christmas and ten weeks to our 1st anniversary on the 18th of January! Excited!
We have a number of future events we would like to inform you about and to let you know what we have planned for the anniversary run.
Christmas & New Year – Those of you familiar with parkrun will know that some events hold runs on these days even though they are not on Saturdays, we plan to hold a run on New Years Day with a 10am start, if you want to do a Christmas Day run Maldon prom will be holding one with a 9am start. (Sue would love 200+ to turn up!!)
1st Anniversary run – This will be a FANCY DRESS run, no theme so anything goes and a prize will be given to the best fancy dress on the day in the opinion of the Run Director and core team members.
Awards will be given out prior to the run and the details are just being finalised and will be revealed closer to date.
Not many things in life are free but as you all know, parkrun is, but there are times when we will need to replace non-standard equipment (Gazebo, laminating cards etc) and also help provide prizes for the annual awards.
There is a standard procedure for donating to parkrun with 85% going straight to the event and 15% of your donation going to the new set up funds. By donating you do also help new parkruns get set up, just look at the difference in this map!

We are very grateful for the following people who have donated this year:
Richard England-Michael Lambert-David Rixon-David Hayday-David-Nelson-Phillip Moore-Bruce Philp.
All donations are open and transparent and can be viewed on the parkrun donations page where it also informs you what the money has been spent on.
So, with the forthcoming season of goodwill heading our way fast and instead of buying that extra mince pie think about donating to your parkrun.
