Brian - the storm called Brian...
Well Brian came along this weekend and rearranged the garden furniture up and down the land. Heavy rain brought concerns of a need to move to the reserve course, but in the end we were able to go ahead and stick with the usual trip around the Countess of Chester Country Park. The weather managed to behave itself, mostly, and 244 parkrunners from near and far (including St Petersburg) were not put off.
So we would like to say thank you and many congratulations to those 27 first timers to Chester - we hope you enjoyed it enough to come back again. Many congratulations also to the 41 of you who managed a PB - always a good moment.
17 of our parkrunners were taking on their very first parkrun. we hope they all enjoyed it enough to keep the habit going - it does rather become addictive - just ask Steve Jolly who was taking part in his 213th parkrun!
As this was the weekend of Storm Brian, it makes sense to mention our one Brian that we had causing a storm in Chester:
Brian Wilderspin came in at 27:02 on his 5th parkrun.
No milestones this week, so it just remains for me to thank everyone for coming along and taking part, our amazing volunteers who keep us going and the Little Brian pub, oops, I meant the Little Owl pub, for keeping us in tea and sausage sandwiches.
See you all again next week and DFYB.
