70 up! And on our 70th parkrun around the delightful greenery of the Countess of Chester Country Park we were delighted, if somewhat challenged, by having a record turnout - the second time in a month. 345 parkrunners made the 5k trip around the paths and fields of Chester.
This was also a special day as we were hosting, or being hosted by our friends at Chester Runners who not only took over our event (again0 but also turned out in force including with a number of pacers - a first for Chester. 44 CRR runners also took part in the event and we had a record 28 volunteers on duty.
We would like to extend our warm thanks to Chester Road Runners for the takeover day.
Congratulations to Gwenda Jones for hitting your 50 milestone.
As it was our 70th parkrun here are a few notable results around the number 70...
Completing his 70th parkrun was Brian Beattie of West Cheshire. Brian is also in the 70-74 veteran category!
An unknown runner finished in 70th place (DFYB!)
David Inchley was 70th male. May Lee was 70th female.
Nick Pulman, Nichola Allison, Paul Cormack and Dominic Hudson all had age graded times of 70%.
James smith is the other veteran 70-74 parkrunner who completed the course today.
Jamie Tilston completed the course in 24:46 - 24+46 = 70... ok I'm running out of ideas.
We would like to thank all the volunteers, CRR or otherwise, for helping to make the parkrun happen. Thanks also to the Little Owl for the continued support and sanctuary.
See you all again soon and DFYB.
