Sometimes the weather in Britain can be cruel. Saturday brought waves of rain pushing through with a few of them hitting the parkrun as we were under way.
Despite the chilly autumnal conditions, we still managed to have a full 263 parkrunners taking the 5k tour around the Countess of Chester Country Park.
In doing so we can celebrate the following milestones:
Toby Abbott - 10 run milestone as junior
Megan Duffy - 10 run milestone as junior
Rosie Allsopp of Chester Road Runners - 50 run milestone
To mark our 71st parkrun we would like to thank Michael Reynolds for joining us. Michael finished 71st and comes to us with an impressive 127 parkruns under his belt - a fine effort and a lot of Saturday mornings!
We would like to extend our very warm appreciation to our fine team of organisers and volunteers who make parkrun happen week after week. We have reached 71 parkruns not because everyone loves parkrun, but through the hard work and dedication of those who are prepared to give up their time to make it happen. We would like everyone to volunteer, even if just once, and even to consider joining the core team as a regular. Believe us when we say that it is incredibly rewarding.
Thank you also to The Little Owl pub who surely do the best breakfast baps around. As the weather turns and the Saturday mornings get colder and wetter, so our haven becomes even more valuable.
See you all again soon and DFYB.
