This morning’s parkrun would have been the first chance to ever complete a parkrun on the 29th February. We had 354 of you LEAP at the chance to do this at the Countess of Chester Country Park for parkrun #189. The weather was dry and clear. The course itself, while a little waterlogged around the finish, was pretty much dry all over. The trial section remains a challenge for some… tiptoeing through section seeming to be the preferred method of getting through it for some.
We had 46 people make this week the first time the attended a parkrun at Chester, 7 of those first timers were doing their first ever parkruns, while 39 were visiting Chester for the first time, having run at parkruns elsewhere previously. We love welcoming first timers at Chester, so if you are sitting on the fence about coming down to take part, please rest assured that you’ll be given a warm welcome.
As for our returning runners, we were able to help 25 people celebrate getting personal bests this week. Talking of personal bests, did you know that we have a PB Bell by the finish area? This was kindly donated to us by Penyffordd Run Club, if anyone gets a PB they should take the opportunity to celebrating personal bests you should tale the opportunity to ring the PB Bell.
Congratulations to all our milestone runners this week were:
100 parkruns Jonathan CURTIS and Tony FRIIS
50 parkruns Sammy HOLLINS, David O'NEIL, Rachel WILLIAMS, Joshua DODD and Peter BAINES
