Event number 230
13th October 2018
Today was Groundhog day – well that’s what it felt like. For the 2nd week it was cold, wet and miserable and 152 runners tumbled out of bed and into the park to run, jog and walk the course. Why Groundhog Day? I hear you ask! Same weather conditions and exactly the same number of runners as last week. This is quite rare and we are mentioned in Elliot Lines parkrun stats this week.
We welcomed 21 tourists from Pomphrey Hill, Cheltenham, Swindon, Highbury Fields, Cardif and Eastville parkruns. We also welcomed 7 first timers to parkrun and we were even honoured with a little visit from the ED of Marlborough parkrun. 17 runners recorded a personal best.
Congratulations to James Robertson who has become a member of the 250 club having completed 250 parkruns. He has completed 23 of the 250 here at Chippenham.
Congratulations also go to Andrea Major who completed her 50th milestone parkrun. Andrea has been running here with her family since December 2016 and has completed 42 of the 50 here at Chippenham.
Congratulations to Archie Pierce for completing his 10th junior milestone parkrun. He has completed 5 of the 10 here at Chippenham.
Many thanks to our lovely volunteers, without whom we would not be able to run the event. Well done to all of the pacers who came in on time...and those who didnt!
Hope you all have a great week, here are some of my favourite photos from this week. See you all next week.
