We welcomed the sun to Clumber Park again this Saturday morning along with a 20 strong volunteering team under stewardship of Run Director Roy Turner.
Once again we had some international visitors from the USA and Australia, we also welcomed Vicky Gore from Preston who was celebrating her 100th different parkrun venue, a great choice to celebrate this at Clumber Park.
Vicky and her friend brought a fantastic cake which we all shared over a drink in Central Bark, the dog friendly café within the park.
The runner in first place this week was David Taylor
It was a close top 3 this week with David being joined by Ian Sadler and Simon Clarke, all finishing within 18:30 in the hot sun!
We also had the pleasure of Louise Prestwich and Lesley Hattersley from Switch Lifestyles who were on hand to let everyone know about one of the fantastic parkrun sponsors Vitality and how it could make a positive difference.
More than a million Vitality members are now enjoying a healthier life with Vitality positively different insurance plans; helping you make the most of your health and wealth.
Whilst he didn’t run this week we were all happy to see Bailey Matthews helping out in two areas. He helped Louise and Lesley at the Vitality gazebo and also helped Vicky Gore eat her 100th venue cake, not a bad morning if you ask me…
As we inform the runners every Saturday in the coming weeks many of our core volunteers will be taking a well-earned holidays. If you run at Clumber Park on a regular basis so please do consider doing your bit and offering to help during August. Volunteering is a great way to see how parkrun is organised and you meet lots of new people.
