parkrun 353 2nd October

Welcome back my friends
To the show that never ends.
We're so glad you could attend!
Come and walk! Come and jog! Come and run!

Another dry yet damp Saturday at the National Trust Clumber Park saw us run parkrun No.353.  As our Run Director Mark mentioned in the briefing Clumber Park is a multi-terrain course in a natural environment which may mean puddles, twiggs and chestnuts on the floor or even falling form the trees!!!

The weather has changed from our normal sun drenched parkrun as we approach autumn and the holiday season passes.  We still had 225 runners supported by 24 fantastic voluteers.  Why not put your name down to volunteer?  We have lots of roles on a Saturday morning and you will be given lots of help and support, just like our finish token volunteers Allan and Jane...

Our first three runners this week were Richard, James and Callum who all beat the 20minute barrier...

This was the first time we used the Volunteer barcode scanning and timing apps is colder weather and not perfect conditions.  We noticed a couple of little glitches and learnt a lot, this may mean a few changes in Central Bark over coffee whilst processing the results but the timings are all good even though your number / token may have changed...

Kate Thronloe, Marshal 3, celebrated her 50th...time volunteering today and lots of runner congratulated her on the way round, thank you Kate!  Niamh is also another volunteering stalwart who helped with barcode scanning today.

See you next week and don't forget to start planning your Halloween Fancy Dress!!!
