parkrun 343 7th March

To celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) we had 402 runners, joggers and walkers complete the course.

Our guest RD for IWD was Jo Summers the National Trust's Active Outdoors Coordinator at Clumber Park who gave us an inspirational speech about how IWD is about challenging ourselves not only physically but also mentally and to consider how are actions, conversation, behaviour and mindset impact society and to call out inequality and unfairness when we see it.

Jo also cited Sarah as her inspirational lady for setting up the Run the Wall Charity Challenge after overcoming cancer for the second time. You can read more about Run the Wall at

Nobody admitted to any milestones this week but we had a trio of juniors joining the 10 club congratulations to Matthew GASCOIGNE, Satya TENNELA and Miya DYSON
Shaun PICKERSGILL also joined the 50 club.

Although there we had no international women present, we did have visitors from Conkers (Ashby), Leeds and Newcastle. Plenty of you took advantage of our special "This Girl Can/#IWD" photo frame here are a few...

You can run, jog or walk a parkrun but you will never be last because we have tail walkers, this week we were going for a record number with 5 tail walkers from Team Thorneloe (including honorary members!)

Saving the best till last...

Great news this week all the finish tokens were returned and our token sorters don't need to self-isolate so they will all be there for you next week.
