Colchester junior parkrun

Plans for a Colchester junior parkrun are progressing and a meeting of all interested volunteers will be held immediately after the completion of Saturday's (16th) parkrun In the Warden's meeting room (meet at the Bandstand). It is very important that if you wish a junior parkrun to go ahead, you attend this meeting which hopefully will only last approximately 30 minutes. We have the finance to start the run, we just now need to build a Core Volunteer team. All will be explained on Saturday.

We will be holding our Christmas Day parkrun at 09:00 from the Bandstand as usual and at the usual time and look forward to seeing you - dressed in festive gear!

Our first Birthday parkrun – 5th April 2014

At our 1st birthday run on 5th April, Rob Saunders and Lorraine Collins will be attempting to run our 5k parkrun dressed as a camel (reprising the role they did at Christmas) but this time for an attempt at the Guinness Book of Records World Record. All is set up for this now and all they need to succeed is everyone's support on the day (...well, maybe that's an exaggeration - it's pretty hot and hard work with two inside a camel costume running 5k!!).
Make a note for your diary - parkrun activities will be starting that day a little earlier at about 08:45 with an Awards ceremony for the past year. If you can, do please bake some cakes and bring them along too, as we hope to have a great party afterwards.
