Congratulations to all 213 finishers this week! We welcomed 46 first timers to Colney Lane, including 10 people who were taking part in parkrun for the very first time: Jessica Crisp, John Garay, Paul Quadling, Laura Rumsey, Frances Harrison, Caitlin Mason, Saranne Webb, Bonnie Statham, Deidre Beattie, and Chloe Myhill. Lovely to see you all and welcome to the wonderful world of parkrun!
We were delighted to welcome this week's parkrun tourists as well. Hello to Simon Gooch and Nigel Cronin from Peterborough, and Paul Akred from Kings Lynn, pictured together here:
Hello also to Nick and Isabel from West London!
We even had intrepid explorers making it all the way across mountains, deserts and rivers to visit us from...Catton Park! Good to see you Simon and Deborah English (big milestone next week for Simon, who's on 99 parkruns at the mo).
Congratulations to Chrissie and Charlotte who both completed their 50th parkrun with us (and Henry who ran his 45th; you'll all have your 50 t-shirts soon!).
46 people recorded new Personal Bests on Saturday and we welcomed representatives of 20 different clubs.
The event was made possible by 23 volunteers:
Nigel BULLEN • Emma O'KELLY • Richard BOWATER • Ian EDWARDS • Andrew STRATTON • Mark BANFIELD • Jon HARPER • Aidan BANFIELD • Sue BANFIELD • Scott COLBY • Katie WHITMORE • Mark WATLOW • George HARPER • Victoria BARNES • Craig SKIPPER • Louis PRESTON • Carole PRESTON • John MITCHELL • Deborah MARSHALL • Nicola WELDON • Steve BELL • George BARNES • Lizzie HUNTON
We do like a good stat at Colney Lane Towers so here is this week's: a grand total of 352 individuals have volunteered 1,632 times at Colney Lane since we launched in December 2017. Thanks to each and every one of you for all of your help!
We'd love to have you join us on the team, so if you fancy volunteering just let us know by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. There's a sign-up sheet each Saturday on our noticeboard when you can put your name down.
Here's how the roster's looking for June: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/colneylane/futureroster/
We're keen to encourage people to have a go at roles they've not tried before, so if you're a regular volunteer do let us know if you fancy doing something new. We'll give you full training (don't worry, none of the roles are too demanding!).
Some volunteering roles mean you can help and run as well, such as helping to set up the course and finish funnel before the run, or serving refreshments afterwards and sorting the tokens.
Thanks to baristas John and Victoria and others who chipped in with serving the refreshments in the Pavilion (looking forward to some mochaccinos in weeks to come, John!). Although we can't handle cash, we do welcome donations of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits etc (especially biscuits!). Alternatively, you can donate online here: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/colneylane/aboutus/
The full results from Saturday and a complete event history can be found on the Colney Lane parkrun Results Page.
