Christmas Day and New Years Day Events

We are hosting our Christmas Day and New Years day events at 09:00 as usual this year. For those interested in carrying out the new years day double we have teamed up with Crewe who are starting at 10:30, plenty of time for the drive between the 2 events.

If you want to volunteer please let us know as we can only hold the events with your support.

Christmas Day Report

This Christmas Day we had a new christmas day attendance record of 170 people who ran and jogged the course, of whom 19 were first timers and 20 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 32 different clubs took part.

We had a course record in the VM80 category with Harry NEWTON setting a new record of 28:01.

A big thank you to today's volunteers, especially as the run director forgot to call them out.

There were tourists a plenty from Norwich, Dogellau, Scotland, Surrey, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Sheffield, Shropshire, Great Yarmouth and even as far afield as Hanley. Thank you for visiting us.

Well done everyone and thanks for turning out on Christmas day.

Congleton Christmas Plans

Hi all,

The festive period is a time to get in some extra runs towards the next shirt milestone. The schedule at congleton is as follows:

23rd December - Christmas Fancy Dress Run - 9am start
25th December - Christmas Day extra run - 9am start
30th December - Last Run of 2017 - 9am start
1st January 2017 - New Year's Day extra run - 9am start. Please note: New Year's Day is the only day where you can run two separate parkruns - our nearest neighbours at Hanley will be starting at 10:00am on New Year's Day.

We need volunteers to make the events happen, so please drop us a mail if you want to volunteer on any of these dates.

Thanks

steve

Missing Tokens

Did you run off home with our finishing tokens last week, 11th March 17 ?

We lost numbers 84, 111, 183 and 184. the runners were not scanned and I therefore can not trace you.

They are not a souvenir, our replacements may not scan as well meaning in future runners may not be given a time as they were not scanned correctly.

Please check you pockets and cars for any finish tokens and return them to the run director.

Christmas and New Year

We plan to host parkrun events at 09:00 Christmas Day and New Years Day. On New Years day you will have time to run in Congleton and then drive to Hanley whose event starts at 10:00.

These are in addition to the regular runs on the Saturday.

We will need volunteers on these days as well, please e-mail us if you fancy volunteering on one of the 4 events over the holiday period.

Parking

If you are arriving after 08:45, please do NOT try and park in the Visitor centre car park or Sandy Lane as these areas will be full. Please consider parking at the local shopping centre (10 min walk) or near the Watersports end of the mere.

We need to be considerate to the local residents who still want access to Ennerdale drive.

Christmas Day

Thank you to all those you turn up to run in the usual Christmas day weather. To see 96 runners was brilliant and that many runners makes it all worth while putting the event on. There were 6 first time congleton runners, welcome. But where were the under 11's today, not a single runner, perhaps they had other things to be doing ?

Big thank you to all the volunteers.

See you all same time on Boxing Day and New years Days.

Steve

Christmas Day and New Years Day is ON again

Hi all,

You will be please to hear that we are on again for Christmas and New years day. Both events will start at 09:00 as usual, the normal saturday park run will happen the following days as usual.

Last Christmas we had 62 brave soles who fronted up to the the sleet, snow and driving rain to run of enough calories to be able to overindulge for the rest of the day. It can not be that bad again, can it ?

On New Years Day why not go for the double, by running Congleton and 09:00 and driving to Hanley for their event starting at 10:00

See you there

steve
