The parkrun with a bit of wind (promise it wasn’t me)

Conkers parkrun Run Report No. 445 - 10th August 2019
Hello everyone and welcome back to Conkers news today. This is where we
will be sharing and celebrating things that people have done and anything that
happened. So, first off, I would just like to say that today we had a whopping
582 runners, joggers and walkers that got out of bed and came to parkrun to
complete 5k. This included 82 first timers to Conkers with 35 of them trying parkrun for the first time. It was fantastic to see who completed their milestones today including
my own mum.

The bells, the bells!! Well a bell anyway. Jon Lee rings his way to his 100th parkrun.

Today I would like to congratulate everyone who finished parkrun especially
my brother who was only 16 seconds away from his PB (his PB is 25:29). First
male back today was George Buttery in 16:37 to equal his current PB. First
female back was Hannah Stroud with a new PB of 18:08.
You may know me from my previous run reports and you can sort of see I’m
trying to race my brother to 50 runs. He’s recently joined Ivanhoe Robins on a
Saturday so it means I have now gone further ahead of him and hopefully
Mum and me should reach 100 and 50 runs on the same day later this year.
Can you please tell my mum that cake is essential for this (but not to take into the café, but if Conkers café have their special chocolate cake that week I will be happy about that) You will also know in previous reports, I’ve mentioned my headteacher, but I move up to my next school in September so she won’t get a mention now.. However, I’ve noticed from Conkers that there are a few of my new teachers that run. Today I took some quick photos for this run report but when I took it, I didn’t realise I got one of my new teachers in it.Hope I don’t get told off because that won’t be a good start would it? If you do see me running at parkrun, I do like a good sprint finish and a gust of wind in the right direction today helped. 61 people had a great sprint finish as they all came away with a new PB.

I took this and only afterwards spotted one of my new teachers in it... Honest!!

This weekends very erm experienced funnel team (no that wasn't written by an 11 year old, that would be rude!!).

I want to give all these volunteers a massive clap for their work so well done

James had just shouted out, who wants Christopher Allen to write this weeks run report? Some parkrunners seemed awfully keen.

See you all next week.
