After a wet week, Saturday morning brought almost perfect overhead conditions for our 19th event but unfortunately the ground conditions were still a little soggy so we trod new ground and our 80 participants took on Route C for the first time. Our re-route of last weeks re-route (aka Route B) was due to the mud and puddles that had accumulated on ‘Muddy Slope’, so a new section across the middle of Horseshoe Field was measured on Friday and with an adjustment to the start line, a new 5km route was ready and waiting for our super parkrunners on Saturday!
Of the 80 who took on our new route, we welcomed 24 first timers including Zoe Wilson, Emily Young, Stuart Young and Ben Ward who were all taking on their first ever parkrun – welcome to the parkrun family!
Aileen Wilson was also a first timer, choosing our beautiful venue to celebrate her 50th parkrun. We hope to see you back at Conyngham Hall soon Aileen with your brand spanking new red 50 t-shirt on!
We love welcoming new people to Knaresborugh so a big shout out to all our visiting parkrunners, including Robert Devlin who joined us from his usual home parkrun in Edinburgh to complete his 10th parkrun.
A big THANKS to all our wonderful volunteers who took the new route in their stride, with a special thanks to Tracey Smith who marshalled the new 3-way junction at Troll Bridge on her first ever trip to a parkrun!
The weather is looking a bit mixed for the rest of the week but we don’t anticipate having to create a Route D for our 20th event…….well I don’t think we will…..over to you Julian!
Have a great week everyone…..only 5 more sleeps until parkrun day!
And now for the stats…..
