Yay! Conyngham Hall parkrun will be taking place on New Year's Day at 10:30am. We expect it to be much busier than normal so here are some things worth being aware of:
Parking. Conyngham Hall public car park could fill up. If you live locally, please arrive on foot or by bike if you can. If you can car share with friends, that would also help. No buses are running but the trains are. There is additional parking in Knaresborough at York Place (off the High St, large car park, allow 10-15mins jog to start) and Waterside car park (accessed from Briggate/B6163, medium sized car park, again 10-15 mins jog to start) as well as limited street parking. Please allow sufficient time to find parking and get to the start, take care and be courteous to each other.
The Course. We have a narrow start and some sections have narrow paths so the course will be busy and you might have to wait to overtake if you wish to do so, but we are scenic and have a lovely varied terrain with fantastic volunteers to cheer you round. We are offering this extra parkrun for the joy of welcoming in the New Year parkrun style. If you're only in it for the fastest ever time, you may want to look for a different parkrun. If you are looking forward to smiling with everyone and enjoying yourself, and are not bothered if you can't always run or walk at full pelt, and are just happy to be there, then you will have a fab time.
Volunteering. We'll be busy so could do with extra help, especially with scanning. If the thought of 2 parkruns is too much for you, then how about volunteering for 1? If we know you're taking part at Harrogate then heading to us, it's fine arriving later than our normal volunteer arrival time. Drop us a line at email@example.com.
Cafe. Our usual cafe, The Black Mulberry on Waterside, will be open if you would like to join us. They will be busy too but there are other cafes open also so there should be room for all.
The Duck Race. Why not stay around for the New Year's Day Duck Race, held at 2pm.
