A lovely cold and sunny morning greeted our first time run director, Shannon Sinton, at Conyngham Hall this week. It was lovely to see one of our frequent junior volunteers step up to the big job! All 130 runners were briefed and the hazards around our half path, half trial course expertly described. We had a shout out to Dave Glover, who competed his 50th parkrun with us and welcomed visitors from Durham and Horsforth.
Shannon congratulated our first three gentlemen to complete the course: Phil Boynton, James Ireland and Stephen Morland. Phil (centre) was very complementary about the course and we are glad you enjoyed it!
Our first junior runner came in an amazing 6th place overall. Absolutely fantastic result, Jamie Jelf, in the centre of the picture here, with his brother, Harry, on the left.
Our first lady home was Mhairi Sellars. Mhairi is a frequent runner and volunteer at Conyngham and completed an extra lap after everyone had finished to make sure we had not left any flag or signs out on the course.
Once we had collected all our equipment, we moved to the Black Mulberry for our usual Saturday morning treats while processing the results. Congratulations to all of this weeks runners and walkers and many thanks to all our volunteers; we couldn’t do it without all of you!
