Don’t you just love Croxteth Hall parkrun, set in the most stunning grounds with the most magnificent hall. Where else can you run through a mixture of tarmac and trail paths through woodland areas enjoying the fresh air. You even get to run alongside horses, cattle and sometimes even birds of prey circling above, this truly is the best way to start your Saturday morning – plus the biggest bonus is it’s a 1 lap course (yay!). If you were a tourist today at our parkrun, please tell your friends just how wonderful we are and encourage them to come and pay us a visit, we’d love to give them a big Crocky welcome.
I’m sure you’ll all agree, we have such a wonderful parkrun community here at Croxteth. It’s such a lovely sight to see friendships develop because of parkrun whether you are a runner or a volunteer. If you are new to parkrun and have never been before, don’t be put off. There is always a first timers briefing by one of our amazing Run Directors who will explain the course, what you can expect to experience and what you do once you pass the finish line. I can assure you, once you run your first one, you'll never look back. As normal within the running community, everyone is so supportive of each otherwith plenty of encouragement. We also have a wonderful tail walker, therefore no-one comes last. If it’s your first time, please come and say hi.
This week was pacer week (normally the first Saturday of the month). We had the fabulous Kirkby Milers AC pacing our runners and I am sure you’ll agree they done a fantastic job, well done guys!! Today we had 55 new PB’s, wonder how many were due to our pacers?
We also had a few runners reach their 50 parkrun milestone – Colin, Denise, Stephanie and Donna. Well done everyone, hope you enjoyed your celebrations. If you have a milestone coming up, drop us a message on facebook, twitter or even via firstname.lastname@example.org as we’d love to give you a huge shout-out.
Put the date in your diary – Team Crocky’s Festive parkrun Saturday 21st Dec. So, dig out that Santa costume, dust off your elf ears and come with your biggest smile as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!!!
See you all next week!
