Some great results today at the sharp end of the field today, with local club members taking the top three slots for both men and women! First was Daniel Weston from Wrexham AAC in his first parkrun, who ran 16:46, making him fifth on our all time fastest list! Solid performances behind him came from Vince Van Woerkom of Chester Tri and Evan Roberts of West Cheshire, with a new PB of 18:01 for this 14 year old. For the women, Megan Hough of Vale Royal was back, with parkrun debutante Anest Müller of West Cheshire behind her and Kirsty Seddon of Chester Tri in third.
We had visiting runners from near and far: Cardiff, London, Stockport and Preston.
Thanks as always to the volunteers, who this week included the Cute Fruit team who are bringing back the classic Farndon 10k next month http://www.cutefruitevents.com/ and Jake and Ray Tran as a father-son barcode scanning team. Thanks also to Ray and Rich Hayes for their work processing the results which was more challenging than usual! You may also have noticed a delay in receiving your results which was due to a national server issue. Text messages were sent out as soon as the results were completed before 14:00, with e-mails sent out by 16:30 and the website updated later that evening. This proves the benefit of signing up for results updates by a free text, so make sure you add this to your profile if you haven’t already!
Good luck to everyone running the Sutton 6 10k in Chester and the English Half Marathon in Warrington today! With two weeks to go until the Chester Marathon those of you taking part can now enjoy your taper, you’ve put the hard work in! See here for details of the route if you would like to go down and cheer everyone on at this fantastic event. http://www.activeleisureevents.co.uk/full-marathon.aspx
You can find information on volunteering here; amongst the usual roles we are looking for a run report writer for next week if anyone fancies a go! http://www.parkrun.org.uk/delamere/volunteer/
