Didcot parkrun – Food-bank Collection

Didcot parkrun - Food-bank Collection

Didcot parkrun would like to help support Didcot Food-bank by collecting items and delivering them to the Food-bank on our parkrunners’ behalf.

Can you help to add some cheer to someone else’s life? The Food-bank has a list of items that they currently need:

• tinned meat/meat pies
• long-life baguettes (ie that require baking before eating)
• pasta sauces, preferably tomato
• packet puddings
• whole UHT milk
• pkt potato
• long life juice
• biscuits
• treats
• cereal
• sugar
• tinned veg

In addition, the organisers say that some people make it their particular aim to give non-food items like nappies and wet wipes, or dog and cat food, toilet rolls and hygiene items. The list of items currently needed can also be found here:

By the way, they ask for no more baked beans! We will collect items in the Didcot Town Football Club carpark near the gate through to the parkrun start for the following couple of parkruns, and aim to take the items to the Foodbank in the week before Christmas.

So please feel free to bring items along at Didcot parkrun on 8th and 15th December. If you come to post-run coffee in the Clubhouse we can always collect items then too.

Thank you in anticipation.

You can also donate to your local foodbank by dropping items into boxes at major supermarkets, taking items directly, volunteering or making financial contributions.
