Run Report #Event 13 -19th October 2019

The run report for the thirteenth edition of Drumpellier Country parkrun is brought to you courtesy of one of our runners David Lyttle.

A pretty cold and wet morning for Drumpellier’s 13th event, what a lovely morning for a parkrun.  We had 135 participants this morning, some wandered off for a warm up lap and some carried out their well-rehearsed dynamic lunge routines but the vast majority enjoyed the warm air of the car heater before setting off for the starting point.

Rain's off. Let parkrun commence

The course was in great condition despite the heavy overnight rain, a nice feature to have a water jump in the trail section for those trying the impossible task of keep their socks dry. A special shout out to the Bark Runners today, woof, especially the fantastically well-dressed poodle.

Marshalling on the not so muddy trailpath

Several first timers at Drumpellier this morning including our first finisher Ross McEachern. There were also loads of participants running their first ever parkrun, welcome to the parkrun family Craig Ferguson, Catherine Spicer and all the others. A special mention to a couple of our youngsters, Thomas Johnstone, you are doing amazing young man and wee Ross sprinting over the finish ahead of his co runners at a blistering pace.

Working hard for those PBs

PB’s galore today, well done Lynsie Cameron, Ross Glass, Christine Little, Joanne Bray to name a few but very well done to all the others, fantabulous effort.

Finish line ahead

Another fantastic event, well done Yvonne Gentles you were amazing (Editor disclaimer: I did not add this bit in) and thank the lord you managed to stay on the rock at the start.

RD was happier than she looked (honest!)

Parkrun really wouldn't happen without volunteers so please consider it for future weeks. Full training is given and nothing is too difficult so come on and give it a try!

That's a wrap!

The event was made possible by 17 volunteers:
