Dunfermline parkrun is cancelled on 2020-12-05 – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Run Report event #220 14 March

A strange week with the continuing and increasing presence of Coronavirus, so it was good to have a normal Saturday morning, outside down the Glen, enjoying the magic of parkrun.
Only one little negative comment - spitting is not pleasant at the best of times, but it's particularly unhygienic and dangerous at present. If you must, please use a tissue.
This week 159 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 18 were first timers and 23 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 16 different clubs took part.
The only milestone today was Thomas Ward - 25 times volunteering. Mostly taking super photos of the action and occasionally marshalling. Well done and thanks Tom.

The event was made possible by 23 fabulous volunteers:

Christine Ann GARVIE • Andrew AIRD • William MOORE • Sheena BLYTH • Karyn STEWART • Joy GUDGIN • Fred WYATT • Morrica STEWART • Margaret SHAW • Nicola SMITH • Caron AIRD • Angie PARKIN • Fiona TODD • Rachel DOYLE • Patrick DOYLE • Neil FARRELL • Gillian CABLE • Morag KILGOUR • Imogen SMITH • Hazel WARD • Mark TODD • Thomas WARD • Rod BLACK

THANK YOU - you made the magic happen!

International Women’s Day – 8th March 2020

parkrun research has found that despite 54% of global parkrun registrants being female, they are less likely to take part and continue participating. So on the 7th of March, our event and lots of other parkruns will be focused on encouraging more women to get out there and start parkrunning.
Maybe you have a colleague, family member or friend who would be interested? We would love to welcome them to Dunfermline parkrun to walk, jog or run or simply come and watch, to see what parkrun is all about.
And  to show their support of the day, we asking everyone to wear purple, if possible. Hope we will see lots of volunteer t-shirts on display, but any lilac, mauve heather, violet, lavender, amethyst or plum tops or shorts (weather permitting!) would be great!
