The sun was certainly shining on us today as we ran along the river banks towards the bandstand. It clearly made a difference to the 67 runners who recorder a new PB today, well done to you all but especially to junior runner Charlotte Dillon whose new PB of 18 minutes 58 seconds gave her an age grade score of 85.85% - incredible!
We welcomed 70 first timers to Durham parkrun today, 23 of whom were running their first ever parkrun this morning. We also welcomed many tourists to the run today from Hull, Chester, Bolton, Wiltshire, Southampton, Bristol and Edinburgh, hopefully all of our visitors and first timers enjoyed the run and we see you back again very soon.
It was also a week full of milestone runs with Daniel Laidler joing the junior ten club, Marita Le Vaul-Grimwood completing her 50th run, Abigail Fox and Audrey Christie running their 100th runs and both Alan Smith and Graham Marshall running their 300th runs today. Congratulations to you all on your achievement and particular thanks to Audrey who has also completed 107 volunteer stints in her time as a parkrunner.
We were exceptionally grateful to our volunteers today, without whom the run can't take place. It's great to have so many regular and first time volunteers helping out today and if you'd like to put yourself down for one of our upcoming events please email in to email@example.com and we'll happily add you to the roster. All of our roles are easy to carry out and we'll show you what to do on the day.
