It was all looking so lovely until the rain started pouring down just before the start of the run today! Special thanks, then, to all the hardy volunteers who got a proper soaking this morning, it wasn't the best weather for standing around and you all managed to carry on giving encouragement to everyone running and walking today so give yourselves a pat on the back.
As the summer season starts we always see plenty of tourists at Durham parkrun who've come to visit our beautiful city and today we welcomed visitors from Bristol, Brighton, Bradford, Blackpool, Harrogate, Wallasey, London and Lytham. We also welcomed 46 first timers to the course, hope you all enjoyed yourselves and we see you back at Durham parkrun very soon.
There were plenty of milestones to celebrate today too with Liam White joining the junior 10 club, core team member Nick Latham completing his 50th, Dave Toulmin his 100th and both Alan Ross and Jim Nicholson completing their 150th runs. Alex Latham completed his 25th volunteer today too so it was a good day all round for the Latham family. Well done to you all!
This week 355 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 46 were first timers and 42 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 24 different clubs took part.
