Durham parkrun event number 394, 12th October 2019

It was a lovely sunny day for us all yesterday as 460 parkrunners made their way along the riverbanks to the bandstand (thanks to Ian Farmer for the great photo). It was particularly good to welcome back lots of the university students and see some new fresher faces too!
There were milestones aplenty as Kate Younger made it to 50 runs, volunteer of the year Neil Young completed his 400th and Grace Walker her 11th run (sorry we missed you last week!). Of course the highlight of the run was singing happy birthday to our very own Mike Eliott as he crossed the finish line, many happy returns Mike!
We were pleased to welcome a huge 77 first timers to Durham parkrun with visitors from Glasgow, Cambridge, Manchester, London and Australia - hope you all enjoyed the run and we see you back again very soon.
As ever a big round of applause goes to our fantastic volunteers, every role was filled this week and we can’t thank you all enough.
Have a great week everyone, see you next Saturday- don’t forget your barcode!
